A Longview
A Longview is a four bedroom lakefront home with an upscale design and huge, sweeping lakefront. Fully renovated in 2022, the quality of this home is apparent throughout, from its exquisite architectural features and upscale decor to its thoughtful arrangement, designed to keep the things you need at your fingertips and within easy access.
All four bedrooms are private master suites, allowing each guest their own space to unwind and relax. Every room is thoughtfully curated and gorgeously arranged. The main level master, pictured here, even has heated flooring.
Outside, the home shines all the more bright. With huge level lawn, private dock, stone patio, and all new outdoor furniture, including a hot tub, grill, and large dining table, this is a home where you will want to greet each sunrise and sunset by the water. The wifi extends all the water to the water line, so feel free to take your work call down on the dock. When it’s time to play, kayak and stand-up paddle boards are provided at the waterline, with complimentary use for all guests.

One of our newest homes, Monkey Lodge Hill, comes with a surprising backstory: the ‘hill’ it resides atop used to be a local water slide! We were lucky enough to score some original photos from back in the day.
Called Monkey Hill, locals fondly remember gathering here to take advantage of the naturally hilly summit and cool off on hot summers days. Now the vantage can be enjoyed out on the deck of our home, chilling in the hammock and gazing out at the rolling mountains beyond.
To keep with the historical theme of ‘fun in the water’, you can even enjoy the built-in hot tub on the back deck!

When you stay at any home or property in the Waterfront Greens community, you get access to an incredible community perk: FREE GOLF!
The feature is available to anybody staying with Red Barn Vacations at Fianna’s Landing, Chateau Royale, the Stone House at Red Barn, or renting the entire Red Barn Inn, or any of the individual rooms at the Red Barn Inn. Pretty sweet deal!
With a par 3 difficulty, this is a walk-on and walk-only course that does not require any reservations. Clubs aren’t provided, so you’ll want to plan ahead and bring some clubs from home. Usually a driver, a mid-range club, and a putting wedge suffice if you are looking to cut down on bulk, but you are welcome to bring your full bag!
Directions to the course (only a one minute drive away) are provided once you check in to any of the eligible locations. There is also a community mini golf course near the entrance to the course. Bring your putting wedge!

Ropes Course
Fly high, soar and swivel, vault and lift, and work the muscles in your mind and body at the Wisp Resort Ropes course. From zip lines and swingings to climbing apparatuses and more, Wisp has two level of ropes courses for children ages four and up, and one adult-oriented course. A great activity for the fall, spring, and summer seasons!
Mountain Coaster
This is one of our favorite activities! Available in all four seasons, this unique activity can be catered to anyone, adult or child. Billed as a “gravitional hybrid of an alpine slide and a roller coaster” this fun ride will whip you down the mountain in a thrilling ride down the scenic mountainside. If you are a more ‘slow, but steady’ type of person, just know that every cart has it’s own hand brake that you control. Or if you, like us, like to go fast… well, that’s an option, too!

Golf
Considering the abundant beauty, gentle slopes, and wide-open fields common to Western Maryland, it is no surprise that some of the east coast’s best golf courses can be found at Wisp Resort. Fantasy Valley Golf Course and the Lodestone Golf Course are both within the Wisp Resort portfolio, with 36 holes between them. Over the years, these courses have gained numerous awards and accolades, including Lodestone being ranked as the #2 Public Golf Course in Maryland by GolfWeek Magazine (2012, 2013, 2014, 2015) as well as Golfstyles Magazine featuring Fantasy Valley as one of the “100 Must-Play Courses of the Mid-Atlantic.”

Scenic Chairlift
If you just want to sit back and enjoy the majesty of nature in a relaxing setting, then a trip up and down the mountain via the scenic chairlift is for you. Repurposing the ski lift in the non-snowy seasons, this is a great way to enjoy the view from the top. Summer and fall are especially excellent times to enjoy use of the scenic chairlift.
Pontoon Boat Tours
If you want to get a chance to explore the lake, without the expense or responsibility of renting your own boat, you’ll definitely want to check out Wisp’s pontoon boat tours. Seating a maximum of 12 people per boat, these hour long tours include a bit of local history along with your sightseeing.
Archery & Disc Golf
Wisp Resort also offers both Archery and Disc Golf courses for a fun new adventure for the whole crew! For Disc Golf, enjoy a ride up the mountain on the chair lift to get to the family-friendly course. Rental equipment is available. For Archery, your 30-minute session includes instruction, shooting time, as well everything you will need, including the bow, arrows, and an arm guard.

Imagine gliding across the treetops on a zipline with the crisp air blowing through your hair. You can add even more thrill to your trip to the mountains by hopping on a zipline in the mountains of Western Maryland. For those who are chasing the thrill, try your hand in our aerial adventure as you scoot through the sky on a zipline or climb across the forest in a ropes course. Here is everything you need to know about ziplining in Deep Creek Lake.
Wisp Resort Guided Zip
Enjoy 5 different zip lines and two different bridges at the Wisp Resort guided zip-lining course. try out zip-lining or check out their Adventure Park, no matter what you choose, you will have a spectacular view of the lake and the resort. For those feeling tactile, try out their cargo net climb to the first zip line platform. Each zipline gets longer and platforms get higher the further you go. By the time you are at the top, your adrenaline will be rushing and craving for more.
Adventure Courses
At Wisp Resort there are two different adventure courses. The courses are divided into one specifically for children and the larger courses that are perfect for all of the other ages. Take your little ones to the chipmunk challenge course, where they can experience the thrill of heights, but a little closer to the ground. With several different obstacles that are suitable for not only children but also adults, the fun will be endless. This course also features a mini zipline. No need to worry about your children’s safety as there will be 1-2 guides per group. These obstacle courses will keep your kids busy for hours.
The Adult course is the Spider Monkey Challenge. It towers over Adventure Park and is likely the first course you will see upon arrival at the resort. They have everything from nets to swings, bridges, and the zipline to finish the day out. This course is for those who like to adventure out on their own as the tour is unguided. This also allows those on the course to go at their own pace.
Monkey Business Adventure Park
New to the park is the Monkey Business Adventure Park. This course is extremely large and offers three different tiers of difficulty. So no matter what level of expertise you are at in outdoor activities, they have something for you. They have 4 different ziplines that offer unique and stunning views of the Deep Creek Lake area and Deep Creek Lake State Park. At this course, you can take the whole family for a day of fun and enjoy a zipline tour. Make sure to check out the Flying Squirrel Canopy Tour.

Saturday, July 3rd, 2021
It wouldn’t be a celebration without a pre-party on the lake the day before. Luckily there are several festivities to partake in this weekend. So buckle up and get ready for the weekend of your lifetime.
Boat Parade
The Deep Creek Lake Lions Club Boat Parade will take place on Saturday, July 3rd. The parade consists of boats decorated in all things fourth of July. The starting point for the parade will be at the McHenry Cove and will ride past several different judging stations along their route. The judges will vote for their favorite boats and at the end, one boat will be awarded the winner. You can watch from anywhere in the path, and lighted boats will head back to the McHenry Cove at dusk. If you are looking for a spectacular boating experience, this is the event for you.
Mountain Fresh Farmers Market
Come and see what all of the hype is about at the Mountain Fresh Farmers Market. Browse through local suppliers for homemade items, freshly grown fruits, and vegetables, and much more. Spend a day in the sunshine shopping locally for some of your favorite products. The farmer’s market happens every Saturday throughout the summer. Spend a day supporting local businesses while you grab some ice cream and enjoy live music.

Fire on the Mountain Fireworks Display
This is one of Deep Creeks’ favorite annual events. Held by the Garrett County Chamber of Commerce, this firework show is one the locals look forward to every year. The stunning fireworks will soar through the sky and light up just over Marsh Mountain at Wisp Resort. For a scenic overlook, you can check along RT. 219. There are many other places to view the fireworks such as Wisp Resort, the lawn at Garrett College, on a boat anchored at McHenry Cove, or most local businesses in McHenry. This Deep Creek Lake Event will bring in thousands of people each year to see the 4th of July Fireworks.

Though many of the festivities will have come and gone, and you may have already been to the Garrett County Fairgrounds, gone to the tubing park, sat at the lakefront, and watched the boat parade, but if the weather says otherwise, Deep Creek is prepared for that. July 5th is their rain date in case everything else gets rained out. You can check the weather conditions on the radio for more detail in the case of bad weather.
