What is the Autumn Glory Festival?

The Autumn Glory Festival is our way of celebrating our magnificent fall colors! Every year, the festival is chosen to coincide with what experts believe will be the peak of our fall colors, making it the most beautiful weekends of the year in Deep Creek Lake, and all of Garrett County.

The festival takes place over several days with the bulk of the activities taking place over the weekend. The highlight of the festival is the Grand Parade through historic downtown Oakland on Saturday. It’s a great chance to see the colors, enjoy the parade, shop the many local boutiques, restaurants, and antique stores, and enjoy the energy of the festival!

Elsewhere, festival participant enjoy self-guided driving tours, music competitions, art shows, and more.

Where Should I Stay For the Autumn Glory Festival?

The Autumn Glory festival takes place all across Deep Creek Lake! Most events take place either in downtown Oakland or at the community Fairground near the northern end of the lake. No matter where you stay around the lake, though, all the activities are an easy drive away.

(But you should definitely stay with Red Barn Vacations: either in our many beautiful rental homes or at The Red Barn Inn)

Here’s what we think you should look for in a house for Autumn Glory

  • Foliage: You’re going to want a house with lots of trees, so you can enjoy the colors every second of your stay.
  • Huge Outdoor Deck and Hot Tub: Good thing all our rental homes have this!
  • A Spectacular Fire Pit: All our homes all have this, too!
The fire pit at Wispy on the Rock is a picture-perfect option for fall.

Outdoor fireplace? Huge deck? Lake Views? Gorgeous trees? This setting from Loch Baile is not to be missed!
